Originating in the U.S.A., the passion for Poker has spread to the four corners of the world and the game is considered as a societal phenomenon of the 21st century. From New York to Macao, via Paris, Buenos Aires and Sydney, who has never been asked to join in a game among friends ? This is a game that no doubts brings people together. Some players and even international poker stars have already given their support to good causes by organising poker tournaments, where all the profits are donated to charity.
The Charity Poker Festival is going to be the most prestigious and exciting charity tournament that ever been organised. Stars from around the world have already shown their interest in joining in this extraordinary event. Who will be the stars taking part in this fantastic event ? The result will be announced on May 17, 2008.
The eight stars taking part in the Charity Poker Festival will be competing against each other in a Texas Hold'Em poker tournament with direct elimination. Texas Hold'Em is the most popular variant of poker played around the world, as it is both the simplest and the most spectacular.
In formal dress, the stars will be driven by limousine to the Palm Beach Casino. Following a photo session, the stars will be welcomed to the poker table and the competition will then begin. The winner of the tournament, namely the person who takes all his/her adversary's chips, will receive the most important sum to be given to the charity of his/her choice. The players eliminated will also have a role to play however. Every player involved will also receive a cheque on behalf of their chosen association.
At the end of the game, all the players will be interviewed by Sogimage camera teams and invited to comment on their experience.
The show will be edited and a will be a 90 min program broadcasted all around the world.
